St Helens, OR - Old Studebaker Wagon!

This photo is for Lynzie..., Yes, it is an interesting antique store. In the last building, they have this old Studebaker Wagon and the chairs!

St Helens, Oregon - checking out the Antique Stores!

Don't you love the texture and color of this old peelin' wall? The row of chairs were reminescent of an exhibit seen long ago at Musee d'Orsay in Paris that displayed a bunch of chairs on a wall!

The photos were taken at Grace's Rivertown Antiques in St Helens, OR. The store is located in the old district near the Columbia River

Need a haircut! Check out those old barber's chairs!

Sauvie Island: Turkey Vulture

This Turkey Vulture, The Raven and the Peregrine Falcon are from the Audubon Society Portland Wildlife Care Center. Since those birds can't be released due to injury or human imprint they are used for education purposes. If you live in or visit Portland, you ought to visit the center where you will see more of these birds and allow time to hike their Wildlife Sanctuary 4.5 miles trail. Next upload will feature the Peregrine Falcon... the fastest animal in the world! BTW - I love the shot of the Vulture in front of the garbage and think this guy is cute... thereby the 3 photos!!!

Bird Watching on Sauvie Island, OR

Sauvie Island

Cold Bird Watchers in the Mist

Moon and Flight of Canadian Geese

Snow Geese

The Portland Audubon Society organized a Raptor Road Trip on Sauvie Island. Took Saturday off to go on this adventure. Saw 2 beautiful Bald Eagles, countless Hawks and a huge number of cranes and Geese flights. Unfortunately the hand held camera was not able to capture sharply the birds in flight or the raptors that were in trees far away. But, I did get some interesting shots that will be added along the next few days. If you like Ravens... keep an eye out for upcoming photos of a very special fellow!

What Kind of Tea Are You?

You Are Black Tea

You have a bold personality. You're not afraid of simply being yourself.

You have the courage to speak the truth. You are fearless in your actions.

You come off as a bit intimidating and unapproachable. Only confident people are attracted to you.

You don't try to scare off anyone. You're just an intense person!

Meet Niki

Meet Niki in her safe spot... the newest addition to our family. She's recovering from being spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated, you name it.. she got it! It's a big change for her since she's a feral cat. She loves being petted and cuddled in the arms and is slowly learning that "the" hand is not threatening and not to be scratched nor bitten.. I had been feeding her for several months and snow sealed the deal... she ventured few feet inside and the rest is history! She's called Niki for St Nick as she officially joined the household on Dec 27th... timing could not have been better since she turned out to be in heat one week later!

You can see the rest of the family by visiting the "old" blog.

Jewelry by Bridgette Rallo

Stamps used : Corinthian Capital 22-008

This brooch began with the fossil cabochon you see dangling from the bottom. It's a pyrite negative: an imprint of an ammonite shell in pyrite. I've always liked anything created around the concept of the passage of time. But I didn't get any further on the brooch design until I received that wonderful Corinthian Capital stamp in the mail. Then the whole piece just came together: the contrasting metals, the time-related artifacts...when you really like certain ideas or things, whatever you do with them comes out well.

The clockwork gear is distressed copper, the small inset cabochon is a man-made ruby and the beads are art glass from the Czech Republic with a silver Thai bead in the center. Bridgette

Stamps used : Spider Web 10-022
This brooch is called Web Design

Those two beautiful brooches were designed by Bridgette Rallo with our rubber stamps. You can purchase those items and many more like it on Bridgette's website The Greenwoods Studio

Sea, Sex and Sun... Almost!!

Oh! no! that's the title of a Serge Gainsbourg's song. This video was shot around Thanksgiving '08 at Long Beach Peninsula, WA .... Sea, Sunset and Seagulls... lots of seagulls but sorry NO sex!!

Grab a cup, breathe and enjoy the sunset.
If you don't have the patience, above are 4 stills.

Set it to play in HQ mode... otherwise its even more fuzzy and if you do not like Vivaldi... you can turn off the sound by clicking and sliding the little speaker bottom right.

Now THAT's the Real "Sea, Sex and Sun" by Gainsbourg!
A very popular song when I was a teenager

Paris (Vincennes) in January

The Chateau de Vincennes, a medieval castle from the 12th century has the highest dungeon in France. Here is an early morning shot from my Mom's apartment. Vincennes is the last subway station on Line 1 in Paris.... brrr... I was freezing my bootie on the terrace to take this picture!
